Drug & Alcohol Detox
Getting through drug and alcohol detox is one of the first steps in the addiction recovery process. We provide on-site, medically supervised Drug & Alcohol Detox with high-end technology for your comfort. The technology we use monitors your withdrawal symptoms so that we don’t need to wake you up throughout the night, and we will provide treatment for withdrawal symptoms as needed to keep you safe and help you get through the acute withdrawal process with as little discomfort and distress as possible.
Residential Treatment
The Residential Treatment program at Align Recovery lasts about 30 days. It is designed to provide an immersive experience for clients who live on-site for the duration of the program. While you will get a fully personalized treatment plan as an Align Recovery client, here is a little bit about what to expect.
- Meals: Your day will start with breakfast at 8 AM each day. Align Recovery provides all meals and snacks (though you are allowed to bring some food products to treatment if you choose).
- Daily groups: You will participate in 5-7 groups per day, starting after breakfast at 9 AM. Some groups or group therapy sessions will be fun, while others will be more serious.
- 3-5 outings per week. These will include walks, 12-step meetings, and recreational activities, like hiking, bowling, or mini golf.
- Individual therapy sessions. In individual therapy, you’ll work with your individual therapist privately for one-on-one sessions.
- Evidence-based and holistic treatments: Align Recovery uses a combination of evidence-based and supportive holistic treatments–including but not limited to behavioral therapies for addiction, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, experiential therapies, like expressive arts therapy, and other activities, such as yoga–for mind, body, and soul wellness.
- Family therapy sessions: Our family program includes a weekly Zoom meeting on Wednesdays at 6 PM for family dynamics. We encourage mediated therapy sessions with family members (extended family or immediate) if possible.
Most clients coming from the Peninsula will choose our inpatient rehab program because it includes room and board, meaning that you won’t have to travel to and from treatment each day. Our center is a home away from home, with a facility dog, vegetable gardens, chickens, extensive amenities, and a great deal of outdoor space.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
A significant portion of people who have a problem with drug or alcohol abuse will also live with one or more additional mental health conditions. When this is the case, integrated or dual-diagnosis treatment is strongly recommended. Dual-diagnosis treatment for co-occurring disorders is linked to a better quality of life, a higher chance of decreased or eliminated substance use, fewer medication interactions, and other positive outcomes.
As part of our commitment to individualized care, we provide Dual Diagnosis Treatment for clients with co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. During the intake process, we’ll ask about your personal mental health history to ensure that you get the tailored care you need, with your unique experiences in mind.
Virtual Care
Virtual Care can be critical for clients looking for a Peninsula drug rehab center. Many clients who complete our residential treatment program get continued virtual care at Align Recovery once they get home. Our virtual treatment sessions are 100% secure, and they allow you to connect with your support system at our center from the privacy of your own home.
Partial Hospitalization Program
In addition to residential treatment and virtual care options, Align Recovery offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP) that operates on an outpatient basis. Clients in our PHP come to treatment throughout the week but live at home or in sober housing nearby.
Medication-Assisted Treatment
Medication-assisted treatment, or MAT, involves the use of FDA-approved medications for some substance use disorders, like alcohol or opioid addiction, alongside therapy. Though not everyone with alcohol or opioid addiction will need MAT, we provide Medication-Assisted Treatment in California for clients who find that it benefits their recovery.
