Intake Process

What Can You Expect?

1. Admission Criteria

We admit adults, of at least 18 years of age, who meet the criteria for a substance use disorder.

2. Contact Our Team

Whether you yourself are struggling, or you are concerned about a loved one, the first step towards help is just a phone call away (707) 343-4357. Our compassionate and experienced staff are ready to assist. We will understand and assess your situation and help provide you with guidance on the best next steps to take.

3. Admissions Preparation

During the initial contact call, our team will assess your current state and verify that your situation and our program are a good fit. We will discuss program costs, insurance acceptance and other financial terms. We will also prepare a login for you in our client portal. We understand that the initial onsite check-in process has the potential to be stressful and want to ensure that we do everything we can to make the process pleasant for you. You can provide as little or as much information as you like, through the portal, to streamline the process when you come to see us at our beautiful location in Sonoma, CA.

4. Packing for Your Stay

Bring personal items, clothing, toiletries and any medications that you will need, for up to a one-month stay, but make an effort to pack lightly.

5. What to Do When You Arrive

Park your car in front of the building, or in our parking area, and come through the main entrance to our front desk, where one of our team members will be waiting to help you and your loved ones through the process.

6. Completing Admissions

Once greeted at our facility, the rest of the process takes approximately an hour. Your family and friends are welcome to join you during the admissions process. During this process, you will have the opportunity to tour the facility, meet with an Admissions Counselor as well as a doctor (if needed). You will provide your medical history, complete any additional necessary paperwork (not already provided through the client portal), take any necessary tests for admission and finalize your contract & related insurance / payment obligations. Once that has been completed, you will have the opportunity to say farewell to your loved ones before being shown to your room so that you can settle in.

Additional Details

Prescription Medication

It is very important that you bring your prescription medications in the same bottle and packaging in which you originally received them from the doctor and/or pharmacy. This includes the protocol your doctor prescribed and directions for use. Bring these in a transparent plastic Ziplock bag. Your prescription medication will be kept safely by staff in our med room and dispensed to you as directed by the prescribing doctor.

Toiletries

Bring all the personal hygiene items you may need: toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, soap or body wash, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, etc. We advise you to pack your personal hygiene items in an easy-to-pack and carry toiletries bag which can be taken back and forth from your room to the shower area. (Tip: bring a pair of cheap sandals to use in the shower).

Clothing

Less is more. Bring enough clothes to stay for 1-4 weeks. However, make an effort to pack lightly. We have complimentary facilities onsite for laundry that you can use as you need. Comfortable clothing and shoes will serve you best. Our facility is extremely casual. Bring clothes and shoes well suited for lounging and light exercise / recreational activities.

There are restrictions related to the use of cell phones and laptops, but feel free to bring them with you. Feel free to bring a book or two for leisure time reading and perhaps a game you will enjoy. Please leave bulky items like bedding and pillows at home. We will provide these items for you. We suggest you leave your valuables at home, but if you arrive with valuables, we will lock them away safely for you.
